About Cerebrum

What Cerebrum Is (and Definitely Isn’t)

Cerebrum started with a simple question: “What if therapy didn’t feel like therapy?”

Not the stiff, awkward kind. Not the kind where you sit across from someone with a clipboard who doesn’t get you. But the kind that actually helps because it’s built around how you think, how you feel, and how you want to grow.

How We Do Mental Health

Serious Science, Zero Stiffness

Cerebrum is led by licensed therapists (we call them Sane Skullptors) who use real-deal, science-backed tools like EMDR, CBT, and DBT—but we package them in creativity, flexibility, and a whole lot of human.

We mix:

  • Evidence-based strategies
  • Creative expression
  • Goal-based work
  • Our patch reward system
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Neurodivergence-affirming support

Whether you’re showing up for a 1:1 Sane Session or squad-ing up for a SaneShop Series (group therapy that actually works), you’ll leave with tools that actually fit your life—not generic advice from someone who doesn’t get it.

Erin Laney, MSW, LCSW

Founder + Lead Sane Skullptor

Erin is a licensed clinical social worker, trauma nerd, EMDR specialist, and the original brain behind Cerebrum. She’s worked with youth and families for years, but never loved the clinical box that most therapy happens in—so she built her own world instead.

She’s warm, creative, neurodivergent-affirming, and obsessed with building systems that make mental health accessible without watering it down.

If she’s not in session, she’s probably designing the next patch drop or turning her living room into a tie-dye lab.

Hannah Mooney, LCSW

EMDR + CBT with a Creative Twist

Hannah’s a licensed clinical social worker who works with kids, teens, and families navigating big feelings, hard stuff, and the weird rollercoaster of growing up. Whether it’s anxiety, school stress, or family chaos, she creates a space where you can breathe, be yourself, and figure things out without judgment.

Her sessions mix science-backed therapy (like EMDR + CBT) with creative expression—think art, movement, journaling, and other tools that help your brain actually do something with what you’re feeling.

When she’s off the clock, you can catch her crocheting, painting, or chilling with her cats (who are equal parts cuddle bugs and chaotic).

Hannah currently accepts Aetna, Cigna, Quest Behavioral Health, Carelon Behavioral Health, Oscar, Oxford, United Healthcare, & Blue Cross Blue Shield. Don't see your insurance listed? Please, contact us to ask for more information on working with us.

Rosa Ciocca, Clinical Intern

Therapist-in-training

Rosa joins us as a clinical intern and current master’s student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She brings five years of hands-on experience working in community mental health with children, teens, and adults.

Rosa has supported clients navigating ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more. She has experience in group work, grief processing, and DBT‑informed care. She practices through a Gestalt lens, helping young people build awareness, connection, and confidence in their own experiences.

When she’s not studying for her licensing exams or seeing clients, you’ll find her behind a camera, painting, or spending time with her two children.
